Pistols are among the most common weapons found in the galaxy. They are relatively cheap and easy to use, and they can be operated safely with very little training thanks to their minimal heat generation. Many operatives even choose to use a pistol as their primary weapon to allow them to focus on improving their talents.
Whilst a Pistol is equipped, if you sacrifice all movement speed at the start of your turn, your effective shooting range is doubled.

Description - Originally an attempt to improve upon the Predator pistol, the Phalanx eventually carved its own place in the galactic market as a cheap, reliable weapon, trading less heat capacity in exchange for better accuracy over distance.
